Apostle's Heart

Committed to the Understanding of the Pure Application  of the Apostolic Ministry to the Church

About Dr. James P. Beck, Jr.

James P Beck Jr, (Pete) was saved when 42 years of age and called into the ministry at the age of 43. Pete had just been saved and baptized in The Holy Spirit after many years as a lawyer and business entrepreneur.

Pete and his wife Jane were married in 1950 after meeting at the University of Alabama while she was an undergraduate and he a law student. They have four sons, Pete III, Michael, Steven and Matthew, all married. They have fourteen grandchildren and three great grand children as of this date.

At the age of 43 Pete founded Maranatha Church in Greensboro, NC and was its active pastor for 22 years. During those years the church grew to be over five hundred souls at one point, sent out several missionaries to vital areas in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and Mexico and founded three other churches which are vital today. The church, through Pete’s vision and contacts held some twenty annual mission conferences and developed many contacts in the nations and around the world.

On Jan 1, 1994, Pete turned the pastorate of the church over to a younger man who had been with him for several years and began to devote his energy to pastoring pastors and traveling among those churches with whom he had developed deep relationships and trust over the years.

In 1995 Pete co-founded Master Builders Fellowship (mbfellowship.com) with Neil Silverberg and led that organization’s apostolic team for the past ten years. In February of 2005, Pete transitioned the leadership of the apostolic team over to Neil Silverberg, but still is an active member of that apostolic team. For more details of the philosophy, vision and make up of Master Builders Fellowship see the web site above.

Pete continues to travel and minister to related churches and brethren in America and overseas and continues to write. Pete has traveled and ministered in Scotland, Russia, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Egypt, Cypress, Kenya, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, Jamaica, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Peru, Colombia, St Maartin and Haiti.

Pete’s calling is to encourage brethren and churches to follow Christ in obedience and to put them in touch with like-minded brethren. He has a passion to see the true apostolic and entire five-fold ministry of Christ explained and modeled, that the gospel of Jesus Christ might be further spread through the earth by an apostolic-prophetic people and that through such churches many will be saved and come to Christ in these last days.
